Selling Tips Overview

Having covered a 101 series – the basic tips of real estate – we leave behind buying and turn our focus to the selling side of real estate. When buying real estate, you deal with a certain agent because they control the property. When you’re selling, there’s a certain degree of control that you’ve got (although sadly never 100%) over how the campaign unfolds. That defines the focus of this series. We’ll answer questions that you may have wondered about but not known who to ask.

Due to the quantum shift between selling property to buying, we plan to answer questions like:

  • Should I sell?
  • Should I stay put?
  • Should I adapt my home to suit my family’s needs?
  • Should I extend?
  • Should I renovate?
  • Should I beautify?

You may be surprised at the cost implications of changing your address, so we’ll discuss that.

A question that’s starting to get asked around this time of year (August) is: When is a good time to sell? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, but we’ll put some videos together, answering questions and providing food for thought.

However, there’s another critical question that we should all be asking when it comes time to sell: Who is going to represent me? Am I going to sell the home myself or am I going to get an estate agent and if I do, who will I use? Be warned, not all real estate agencies in Ballarat are created equal – you could drive a truck through the differences – and I’ll spend a few videos fleshing out those differences.

I won’t mention names, but simply float some concepts for your consideration. We’re really excited to be able to bring this stuff to you, so stay tuned, we’ll talk again soon.
